There are three good reasons to continue your formal diving education:
- You will become more comfortable and safer in the water, making each experience more enjoyable.
- Specialty diving courses are a critical component of achieving Advanced Diver and Master Diver status. Denver Divers has qualified instructors that are trained to teach a variety of SSI and SDI/TDI specialty courses.
- Some dive trips and resorts offering unusual or extreme diving experiences will require additional course work and certifications.
Nearly all of the following specialty courses:
- Consist of two hours of classroom work
- Cost $70.00 plus the cost of the student kit
- Require two open-water dives to complete certification requirements. If you have, in the past, logged applicable dives that have been observed and documented by a dive professional, those experience dives will count as specialty course certification dives. There is no additional charge if you choose to demonstrate your specialty open water skills with a Denver Divers’ instructor. The best way to achieve your advanced certification is to take all four specialty classes at once over a single full day. See the Advanced Open Water Diver hyperlink in the class list to learn more.
| Night and Limited Visibility DivingTraditionally, divers enjoy a crystal clear view of the world’s most famous underwater environments. Night and limited visibility diving takes these crystal clear views and turns them into a mysterious underwater adventure. By learning to dive with a dive light and use the proper hand signals underwater, you will be able to navigate with limited visibility, and enjoy nightlife under the sea. Encountering many nocturnal marine creatures completely different from the animals you see during the day is just a dive away.
